Harrison Armstrong has been with Everton since the age of five.

Armstrong has quickly progressed through the ranks at Finch Farm and is now a first-team regular at the age of 19.

David Moyes has been really impressed with Armstrong’s performances since returning from his loan spell at Preston North End.

Moyes’ current deal expires next year… 🤔

Speaking last month, the Everton manager said: “The biggest thing I can say is I don’t think he looks out of place in the arenas, whatever he’s been in. He’s shown that his future will be in the Premier League.”

That said, Armstrong recently sat down for an interview with Everton’s website and reflected on his time at the club over the years.

He was asked who his favourite Toffees player was growing up in the academy.

Harrison Armstrong’s favourite Everton player was Romelu Lukaku

Armstrong explained that Romelu Lukaku was his favourite player as a kid, closely followed by Leighton Baines.

“I think as a young player you look a lot at who was scoring all the goals, so in my time when I was coming up it was Romelu Lukaku!

“Leighton (Baines) was important for me as well – first as an Under-18s coach, now I’m working with him in the first team – but it was strange working with him at first because I used to watch him every week.”

Wonder how much we’d be able to sell him for…😬

Armstrong was also asked how it feels playing under Moyes this season.

The teenager replied: “I’m like a sponge around him. He’s worked with some unbelievable players and won big competitions.

“I’m just coming in every day ready to learn from him, as well as the staff and the rest of the lads here. The manager has really shown trust in me and he’s helping me kick my career on, but I know I’ve got to repay that in performances on the pitch and hopefully I can continue to do that.”

The England youth international has been forced to play a bit-part role in recent weeks, as he’s been benched in four of the last five Premier League games.

But, if Idrissa Gana Gueye departs upon the expiry of his contract this summer, he’ll likely play week in and week out next season.
