777 Partners have been relentless in their pursuit of Everton, desperate to add the Merseyside outfit to their sprawling portfolio of clubs.

The Premier League side would mark an outstanding capture, given the immense financial potential a side in such a lucrative division can offer.

However, of late, the Toffees have been far from profitable.

In fact, their losses have left them more hamstrung than ever, with Monday’s latest profit and sustainability breach marking their second of the campaign.

So, are 777 Partners still interested in taking Everton off Farhad Moshiri’s hands? We take a closer look…

777 Partners’ stance on latest Everton breach

Many, whether they want the Miami-based firm to take over Everton or not, will be clambering to find out more about a takeover that has rumbled on since September after this latest news.

With the Premier League delaying an outcome in dramatic fashion, thus creating tension seldom seen in such a takeover process, they could be forgiven for feeling deterred by the numerous hurdles that have been placed in their way.

Well, Liverpool ECHO has sought to offer that key update, with journalist Dave Powell penning an important update.

He offers the answer to every Evertonians’ question, writing: ‘The fresh breach arrives during a campaign that has already seen the club hit with a 10-point deduction won’t, sources claim, derail the plans for the Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners to press ahead with the purchase of the club if regulatory approval arrives, with the clauses already included in the heads of terms for the sale agreement in relation to such matters.’

Why has 777 Partners’ Everton takeover taken so long?

Whilst questions over their financial power and legitimacy have likely halted proceedings, it was actually revealed by the Premier League CEO himself why few updates have emerged.

Richard Masters, as he sat in parliament to argue against his organisation needing outside regulation, was unsurprisingly quizzed on the two hot topics: Everton and Nottingham Forest.

After all, they had been coincidentally found guilty just the day before, in a faux show of last-minute strength.

Well, when asked about 777 Partners, his answer was extremely interesting, suggesting that they were yet to receive sufficient answers to the questions they were asking.

Whether that is indicative of the buying party not quite being forthright with the necessary information, or a mere ploy to kick the can down the road, regardless this £550m takeover is dragging on far longer than it should, and needs resolving soon.
