Everton’s stance over Manchester City’s expected legal action against the Premier League has now been revealed.

It has been a season of frustration from Sean Dyche‘s side after Everton were deducted points following their PSR breaches.

Relegation threatened the Toffees for the large period of the campaign and the Goodison Park voiced their anger at the Premier League.

Having been docked points, the Everton fans displayed their anger with protests against the league as the club united against the decision made against them.

But Everton aren’t the only club finding themselves up against the Premier League with Nottingham Forest also docked points.

And now, Manchester City are believed to be planning legal action against the league as their alleged breaches case rumbles on in the background.

According to Sky Sports, City are now looking to bring an end to the Premier League’s regulations on commercial and sponsorship revenue for companies associated with the clubs.

The Premier League champions find themselves at the heart of the most complex of all of the cases against a specific club in the league yet.

A grand total of 115 charges have been stacked up against City to date but there has still been no resolution found.

And it now seems as if City are looking to flip the table and push the Premier League to change their rules with a number of clubs expected to back them.

According to a report by The Lawyer, Everton are one of those clubs who are expected to back City’s fight against the Premier League.

Two other clubs are also believed to be ready to support the Premier League powerhouses with Chelsea and Newcastle United also of the same mindset.

However, the report from Sky does claim the majority of the league are ready to go against City on this one.

Everton must tread carefully in backing Manchester City

There is a fine line between feeling aggrieved by the Premier League’s decision earlier in the season to deduct points from the Toffees.

However, City’s charges are above and beyond anything that has been seen before in the top flight and would have huge ramifications if they are found guilty.

Given the severity of their charges and the number being racked up against them, Everton must tread carefully in picking their battles against the league.

As one of the reports states, the large majority of the Premier League clubs are against City on this one with Everton joining two of the league’s richest sides in backing the financial giants that are City.
