Nottingham Forest are considering the appointment of former Everton manager Sean Dyche after sacking Ange Postecoglou.

Evangelos Marinakis sacked Ange Postecoglou after just eight games in charge following the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

Marinakis is weighing up a move for Marco Silva, who has impressed at Fulham since leaving Merseyside in 2019.

Former Everton boss Sean Dyche is also a strong contender, and here’s how Nottingham Forest fans are reacting to that potential hire.

Nottingham Forest fans don’t want Sean Dyche

According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Sean Dyche is the frontrunner to become the next Nottingham Forest manager.

Forest supporters have been reacting to that news on X, formerly known as Twitter, and it’s fair to say they aren’t best pleased.

“We get Sean Dyche and we kiss away any progression in the league and Europe. We’ve got 30 games left not 10,” @ryanbardill_ posted.

“Dyche should not be an option, would be such an uninspiring appointment that I’m sure the players wouldn’t like,” @forest157104 commented.

“If Dyche is the answer then all that ambition the club promised has gone,” @originalDP_ admitted.

@BrummieTricky said: “Sean Dyche will be the worst appointment this club will ever make. Not for win %, but for ambition and to show the players we’re a modern, forward-thinking club.”

Sean Dyche turned down Rangers this month

According to Sky Sports, Dyche wasn’t interested in becoming the Rangers manager after Russell Martin was sacked earlier this month.

Some Rangers fans really wanted Dyche, but the 54-year-old ruled himself out of the running and is clearly keen to return to the Premier League with Forest.

Dyche knows the area of Nottingham well and was a youth player at the club when Brian Clough was the manager.

So clearly he’s all-in on that job, it’s just whether Marinakis decides to go for someone like Roberto Mancini, who has more experience in Europe.
