Paul Merson has now predicted who will win this weekend as Everton host Bournemouth for the final game of the season.
With Everton two points above the relegation zone, Sunday’s fixture is of paramount importance to the club, while the visitors have little to play for.
Given the significance, Merson predicts in his weekly Sportskeeda column, a 2-0 win for Everton, though states that the Blues will be under a lot of pressure.
Merson says: “Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United the other day could be a priceless result for them, as it puts a lot of pressure on Everton.
That said, I don’t see Bournemouth turning up, as they don’t have much to play for. Everton, on the other hand, are heading into one of their most important games in Premier League history, so I fancy them to step up and get the job done to avoid relegation.”

Without doubt this is one of the most important games in modern history for Everton Football Club, and they will need to step up to the challenge.
The likely absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who sustained a hamstring injury during last week’s 1-1 draw with Wolves, is a blow to Sean Dyche’s side.
However, the impetus remains with Everton, and the passion from the fans within Goodison Park will be crucial, with fan group the 1878s arranging a ‘sea of blue’ inside the ground.
There have been some brilliant individual performances of late from the likes of Dwight McNeil and Abdoulaye Doucoure and a lot will rest upon Everton’s key men again this weekend.
No doubt Everton fans everywhere would be quite happy to see Merson’s predication of a 2-0 win for the Toffees come true.
