‘I would expect’… Simon Jordan predicts when Everton will hear the outcome of their appeal

Everton are still yet to hear back from the Premier League regarding the appeal of their ten-point deduction.

Despite the trial having concluded three weeks ago tomorrow, it seems the independent commission simply cannot come to a conclusion in what is a monumental ruling that continues to negatively affect the squad the longer it drags on.

They decision-makers remain unbothered though, as deadline after deadline passes by.

Simon Jordan is the latest to try his hand at predicting when a ruling might be made.

What Simon Jordan said about Everton’s appeal

Speaking live on TalkSPORT earlier this morning (22/02, 11:10 am), the former Crystal Palace chairman was rather blunt in his assessment of the delay.

Brushing aside any potential conspiracy theories, he insisted that he always knew it would be a drawn-out process, but expects a clearer future on these issues to soon be in action.

Jordan would go on to claim: ‘We are also living in a world now where we’ve moved from, I’m not suggesting it’s great, but the sophistication and the refining of the system is moving to a far more comprehensive way of operating.

‘I would expect the result to come out relatively shortly. I didn’t expect to hear it until the end of February and if it goes past the end of February… there’s no reason for holding it up, if you’re not privy to the entire process, if you’re not privy to how the thing is held together and why it’s taken a period of time.

‘Because no one is going to be sitting on their hands going ‘Oo let’s keep the idiots in suspense.’ No one is going to be sat there going ‘Oh I know what we’ll do this week, let’s make sure Everton are kept on their tenterhooks.’ There will be reasons, and it might be, simply, that individual members of the panel weren’t available at certain times to get together to adjudicate the decision.

A Premier League conspiracy?

Whilst Jordan is obviously right regarding the conspiratorial suggestions that are flying around regarding Everton’s ongoing battle with the Premier League, there have been some very questionable decisions made that do bring this notion into question.

After all, it is quite clear that the bulk of this is only really happening because of the looming threat of an independent regulator.

So whilst the Toffees were in the wrong, and even admitted guilt for their transgressions, the scale of the sanction was grossly out of proportion and unfair on the Evertonians whom it really affects.

And yet, it is one which the Premier League are clearly comfortable with, and thus far are sticking with. The hope is that the appeal can disprove their argument.

Not only that, but the manner in which their CEO Richard Masters has gone about his business throughout this period has not eased frustrations either, with the executive branding Everton a ‘small club’ alongside Nottingham Forest whilst making numerous false promises which he is yet to keep.

The prolonging of this process is not really a part of this, although it is certainly having a negative effect on the team, which James Garner revealed.

To put these rumours to bed, the Premier League need only to come to a conclusion and move forward, otherwise, they are only set to intensify.
