‘My guess would be’… Alan Myers predicts when Everton’s appeal verdict will now be

There have been many predictions regarding when Everton might get their appeal verdict, but thus far, few have been correct.

Alan Myers had first touted a mid-February announcement earlier in the month, but complications have clearly hampered that plan.

The Premier League, as an institution that has delayed 777 Partners’ proposed takeover for nearly five months now, are clearly not scared to make a club wait for a big decision.

However, in this situation it is proving damaging, and with each day that passes, they leave clubs around the relegation zone more and more hamstrung.

Fortunately, it does seem like they are stirring towards some decision-making, with that aforementioned takeover reportedly nearing its conclusion.

And now, Myers has updated his earlier prediction with a new, opinion-based one.

Alan Myers predicts Everton’s appeal verdict

As one of the most well-respected and reliable journalists associated with Everton, so often what Myers says goes.

And whilst his earlier suggestion seems set to be slightly off, barring a late announcement in the week, there is hope that his new one proves correct.

After all, it would be good just to have any outcome at this point just to promote some kind of stability from that point forward.

The Sky Sports reporter emphasises it is merely his opinion, but, replying to a fan on X, he writes: ‘My guess would be late next week but it’s just a guess’.

Good or bad news, Everton just need a conclusive outcome

Regardless of the outcome, at this point, Everton just need a decision to be made.

Until then, they are treading water, forced into this horrid limbo state which has them hanging just inside the relegation zone.

And yet, whilst they are there, they remain unsure as to whether they will be reimbursed with all ten points, see the deduction reduced, or be forced to stick with the full punishment.

Whilst the former two options are obviously preferred, at least if a decision is made soon Sean Dyche can go about aligning his team with the rest of the campaign in mind.

Especially given the mindset of his players is certain to be altered by whatever the verdict is too.

The longer they drag it on, the more foolish the Premier League looks. But also, the more inept they become too, which is becoming damaging for all those wallowing around the relegation zone.

A conclusion is a must, and it is needed now.
