If Everton want to show serious ambition, they should try to sign £45m Premier League star

Everton must build on their 13th-placed Premier League finish last term.

Having come close to European football, Everton must now go one step further and get into the top seven or eight next term.

The Toffees have just watched Brighton and Bournemouth get into Europe, so there’s no reason why they shouldn’t achieve that feat as a much bigger club.

What would you be doing with Nathan Patterson this summer if you were Angus Kinnear? 👋

Surely the writing is on the wall now?

To do that, the Friedkin Group must spend a pretty sizeable amount in the transfer market, and if they really want to show ambition, they should try for a £45m-rated Premier League midfielder.

Everton should try to sign Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham

Transfer specialist David Ornstein reported on Sunday evening that Lucas Bergvall wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur.

“EXCL: Lucas Bergvall informs Tottenham Hotspur of preference to seek new challenge elsewhere,” Ornstein wrote on X.

“20yo midfielder targeted by clubs in PL + Europe & #THFC aware of wish to leave this summer for fresh start. #Sweden int’l contracted until 2031.”

Already, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Chelsea have registered their interest in Bergvall, who is believed to be valued at around £45m.

After watching him for England vs Croatia, I’m convinced he’d be the perfect right-back signing this summer! 🔥

Everton should seriously consider making a move for the Spurs youngster, as they are in the market for a midfielder.

If the Toffees want to move forward as a team and be a bit cuter on the ball, Bergvall is the exact type of player they should be targeting.

Indeed, Chelsea pose as stiff competition, but Moyes’ side could offer regular first-team football week in and week out.

Plus, the 2006-born would be able to develop with a little bit less pressure and in an environment that is heavily protected by the Scotsman.

The Friedkins have already shown their willingness to spend big on exciting young talent, as seen with the £40m outlay on Tyler Dibling, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they consider this deal.
