Everton are showing an interest in Japan striker Ayase Ueda.
It emerged earlier this week that Everton have been scouting Ueda for some time, having been impressed by his performances for Feyenoord.
Ueda, who netted 25 goals in the Eredivisie last term, has made a real name for himself at the World Cup so far.
What would you be doing with Nathan Patterson this summer if you were Angus Kinnear? 👋
Surely the writing is on the wall now?
Ueda netted a brace against Tunisia last night and has been earning rave reviews in the national media outlets.
Now, it has emerged that the Everton target actually set a World Cup record with his headed goal.

David Moyes will like Ayase Ueda’s World Cup record
Ueda’s first goal against Tunisia was a brilliant low-driven strike from outside the area, which found the bottom corner.
And, his second goal was perhaps even better, especially if you judge it on the difficulty.
Ueda set a new record at the tournament as he reached a height of 2.50 meters when he jumped and headed home Japan’s fourth goal.
No player in the competition so far has reached that height from a headed goal, eclipsing the likes of Leo Ostigaard (2.46 meters) and Ladislav Krejci (2.42 meters).
It shows how powerful the Japanese frontman is in the air, which will certainly encourage Moyes and his chiefs to launch an official bid.
The Scotsman often wants his number nine to be physically imposing and be able to convert chances from crosses.
Ueda certainly fits that bill and has evinced that he could be a really good fit for the Premier League’s style of play.
Feyenoord reportedly want offers in the region of £30m to sanction his sale, so it’s a feasible deal to do for the Friedkin Group.
