Jack Grealish looks totally reinvented at Everton this season.

Jack Grealish is currently the top assister in the Premier League with four in five games, so it’s fair to say he looks back to his best.

Everton manager David Moyes has even been surprised by just how good Grealish has been since joining from Manchester City.

“I think some of his football has been really good,” Moyes said last month. “The biggest compliment I could probably give him is he’s better than I thought he was. You know, he’s so good.”

It begs the question, why did his Man City career fizzle out? Well Grealish has lifted the lid on that.

Jack Grealish opens up on partying too much at Man City

Speaking to his former manager Tim Sherwood in an interview with Sky Sports, Grealish spoke openly about why he struggled to perform towards the end of his Man City career.

“People go, ‘he likes to go out, he likes to party’ and I do,” the Everton star admitted.

“I want to be able to live my life and enjoy myself but obviously there’s a time and a place to do that.

“Sometimes, I’ll be honest with you, I probably haven’t picked the right times. At City, I didn’t help myself at times, I’ll openly say that, but then I don’t think it was all down to that.”

Grealish, who turned 30 earlier this month, has clearly learned from his previous mistakes, and now at Everton, he comes across as a really level-headed and experienced professional.

Moyes’ stewardship has evidently helped him to knuckle down and ultimately enjoy playing football again, so he’s probably entering the prime of his career.

Jack Grealish explains how he’s been able to get back to his best

Grealish admitted that he’s ‘quite vulnerable’ off the pitch and feels Moyes’ arm round the shoulder approach has helped him to rediscover his form.

“I’m at my best when I feel loved,” the 39-cap England international said.

“You know I’m quite vulnerable off the pitch and I wanted to go somewhere to just feel the love again, and to just wake up and want to play with a smile on my face again.

“Obviously people have a perception of me, but there’s nothing I love doing more than playing football. Whether that’s on the training field, I just love playing football.”

Everton return to action on Monday evening, as they take on West Ham United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Grealish will be looking to add to his impressive assist tally, and perhaps get his first goal for the club.
