Everton have made a positive start to the new Premier League season.

For years, Everton have been looking over their shoulder towards the bottom three, but David Moyes has brought a different belief around Merseyside.

Since replacing Sean Dyche in January, Moyes has Everton in sixth place in the Premier League table across a 24-game period.

The summer signings have given fans lots of encouragement, with Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall already establishing themselves as key players.

Grealish was asked what the aim is for Everton this season, and he candidly opened up.

Jack Grealish reveals Everton’s goals this season

Speaking in an interview with Tim Sherwood on Sky Sports, Grealish was asked what the objective is for Everton this season.

“I’d love to win something, I’d love to,” the 30-year-old admitted.

“Obviously, we went out of the Carabao Cup the other night, so yeah that didn’t go too well.

“You know we have the FA Cup and I think to try and get this club… I don’t want to put too much pressure on the club and other people… but I think to try and get into Europe.

“I think now you can finish seventh, eighth and get into Europe, so I think it would be unbelievable for the club and something that the fans deserve.”

David Moyes also wants to return Everton to Europe

Speaking in the summer, Moyes was also pretty open about his desire to get Everton back into Europe after a long absence dating back to the 2017/18 season.

“We had an incredible time at West Ham and winning a European trophy,” Moyes explained. “But now back at Everton, I’ve got to try and set the same sort of sights for Everton as well.

“In the early parts of my career when I was Everton manager, we did get to Europe quite regularly and it has to be, I feel as if it has to be a target for us.

“We have an exciting new stadium to move to, lots of good things happening, new owners coming in. Maybe we can’t do it too quickly, but we have to aim to get back to those levels.”

If the Toffees were to get back into the win column against West Ham tomorrow, they’d move back into the top half of the table within a point or two of the Champions League spots.
