Everton were delighted to have Jarrad Branthwaite back against Crystal Palace, but that was short lived as he’s now nursing a new injury.

The Toffees managed just fine without him, keeping their first clean sheet of the season against Newcastle at Goodison Park at the weekend.

Sean Dyche provided an update on both Vitalii Mykolenko and Jarrad Branthwaite, with a chance of them possibly playing in Everton‘s next game against Ipswich Town.

With the new owners potentially coming in, Everton are looking to tie Jarrad Branthwaite down to a new deal at Goodison Park amid interest from Liverpool.

He already made a big difference in his performance against Crystal Palace as a presence at the back, so Sean Dyche will be desperate to get him back as soon as possible.

Now, Ben Dinnery has provided an update on his chance of playing against Ipswich.

Jarrad Branthwaite’s chance of facing Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town currently sit a place below Everton in the table, so getting all three points will be crucial in moving further away from the dreaded relegation zone.

Liam Delap has been a real nuisance for Premier League defences in recent games, so having Branthwaite back could prove vital if he can make it.

Interestingly, injury expert Ben Dinnery has provided a bit of an update on his chances of making the Ipswich Town clash.

He states that there is a 50% chance of the defender featuring against Ipswich, so it’s very much down to how he responds during the international break.

Everton’s other defensive options at Sean Dyche’s disposal

Michael Keane has come under a lot of criticism so far this season, but he proved his doubters wrong against Newcastle with an inspired defensive display.

James Tarkowski was the player at fault for Newcastle United’s penalty, which Jamie Carragher was quick to slam him for, though Jordan Pickford stepped up and saved the day.

Jake O’Brien is another option for Sean Dyche, but he’s not fancied him much since joining for £17 million in the summer, which has left some Everton insiders baflled.

Having seen what’s happened so far this season, it’s likely Tarkowski and Keane will start as there’s no real reason to rush Branthwaite if he’s not fully fit.
