Ipswich Town suffered a 3-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic last night and fans had a lot to say about former Everton defender Ashley Young.
Ashley Young’s contract at Everton expired in the summer, so he joined Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town on a free transfer.
The 40-year-old worked with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna at Manchester United, which will help to speed up the transitional period.
Young made his second league start of the season last night, and it certainly wasn’t a productive evening at Portman Road.
Here’s what Town fans had to say about the former Toffees full-back.

Ipswich Town fans give verdict on former Everton star Ashley Young
Ipswich fans swarmed to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the bruising home defeat to newly-promoted Charlton last night.
It’s fair to say, supporters weren’t best pleased with Young’s performance.
“Nothing against the man himself, but Ashley Young the footballer can go. Brings absolutely nothing to the side,” @itfcaja posted.
@MrStephenDuncan added: “Get Ashley young off the pitch now.”
“Absolutely disgraceful. Mckenna on thin f—— ice now. No fight. No desire. No creativity. Just keep the ball, lose it, and then let them in. Ashley Young never play football again. Clarke hold ur head high, didn’t give up like the rest of these p—–. Absolute disgrace,” @gbrscottm wrote.
“Mcateer, Akpom and Young all off please,” @itfcaja commented.
Ashley Young disappointed after Charlton defeat
Speaking to TWTD after the game, Young admitted he was really disappointed but urged everyone to stick together, as boos rang around Portman Road after the third goal.
“It’s a collective, obviously we’re a team,” Young said. “When things don’t go right, it’s a team game.
“We’re all in it together, there’s 11 people out on the pitch that when we concede we all concede together, and when we score we all score together.
“It’s disappointing, we’ll obviously look at them and watch them back and see what caused them. We need to recover after today and get ourselves prepared for Saturday.”
Ipswich were fancied by many to win the league and bounce straight back to the Premier League, but they currently reside in 13th, having won three games all season.
