Preston North End fans gave their verdict on Everton loanee Harrison Armstrong’s performance last night.

Everton sent Harrison Armstrong out on a season-long loan deal to Championship outfit Preston North End.

David Moyes was actually happy to keep Armstrong in his first team, but ultimately, the decision was made to get him playing regular football to accelerate his development.

Preston fans have been impressed by Armstrong so far, and they had a lot to say about him after the 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City last night.

Preston fans pleased with Everton loanee Harrison Armstrong despite defeat

It’s always an encouraging sign when a player is praised after a defeat, and that’s the case for Armstrong.

Preston fans were happy with his performance, as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to have their say.

“That Armstrong head and shoulders above them boys in midfield,” @wignall07 posted.

“Sorry but Smith Jebbison front two is painful to watch aswell, Armstrong a Rolls Royce, offiah about as much as RWB as me,” @prestonjord said.

@SeddsPNE added: “Thought Gibbo and Armstrong were good tonight. Offiah good but showed that he is a cb opposed to a wing back, just lacked that quality and confidence to cross it. That being said, very promising from him.”

@wickedwilk explained: “3 loans (Armstrong, Lewis Dobbin and Alfie Devine) are superb players & Jebbison is improving all the time. We have a good side, imo.”

Paul Heckingbottom has been blown away by Harrison Armstrong

Speaking on talkSPORT during the international break, Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom said Armstrong is going to become a top player.

“We had to be patient at the back end of the of the window when you know you’re trying to add that little bit more quality,” the Preston boss said.

“And we knew it was only loans then. So you’re looking at the Premier League’s best talent if you like Alfie Devine. You mentioned Jebbo (Daniel Jebbison) who we got early and and then Harrison.

“So I had to be patient. We’re grateful to Everton. But he’s someone I think is going to be a really, really good player and I think our fans and our players are really seeing what he’s about now and he’s a really good lad as well.”
