Everton veteran Seamus Coleman was in action for Ireland on Saturday.
Despite announcing the end of his playing career with Everton, Seamus Coleman is still representing his country.
Ireland narrowly missed out on qualifying for the World Cup in America this summer, but they still had a few friendlies against Grenada, Qatar and finally Canada yesterday.
Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔
Wolves, Burnley and West Ham have all lost their Premier League status…
Coleman started the 1-1 draw at right wing-back in Montreal and played up until the 70th minute before being subbed off for St Mirren’s Killian Phillips.
That said, here is what the Irish media had to say about the Everton captain’s performance.

Seamus Coleman struggles for Ireland vs Canada
Coleman actually struggled against Canada on Saturday as he came up against a lightning-quick winger who got the better of him.
Balls.IE gave the Toffees star a 5.5 match rating.
“Hull City winger Liam Miller gave Coleman a real tough time in the first half, constantly running at him and beating him on numerous occasions.
“He offered no attacking threat and was almost as another centre half with how deep he was at times. Another who seemed to fall victim to the system.”
Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson believes the weather conditions may have played a part in the poor opening 45 minutes.
“Maybe it was the humidity, the heat, or maybe our training has been too tough,” Hallgrimsson told reporters.
There’s been no word on whether Coleman will retire from football, but perhaps this game may influence his decision.
Clearly, the 37-year-old isn’t able to get up and down like he used to, so perhaps a decision could come after his summer holiday.
Everton would love for Coleman to stay on as a coach.
