Sean Dyche has been a fan of Anthony Elanga for a long time, with Everton set to bid for the player this summer.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who has claimed the Toffees boss has liked the Manchester United youngster for ‘some time’.

Elanga looks set to secure a move away from Old Trafford this summer after making only five starts in the Premier League last season.

Everton are now considering a move to bring Elanga to Goodison Park after previously failing with a loan bid for him on January’s transfer deadline day.

The 21-year-old is reportedly valued at only £10 million by Manchester United and Dyche is looking at taking advantage of his situation and finally signing the player he has admired for a while.

Speaking on The Football Terrace‘s YouTube channel, Jones said: “Elanga has got a lot of promise. Everton want someone who has got a bit of rawness about them, no fear, and Elanga might be fitting for that.

“With Elanga’s ability to across and the rest of it… he’s the perfect player for Sean Dyche and he’s liked him for some time I’ve been told.”

Can Anthony Elanga be the ‘perfect player’ for Everton?

Anthony Elanga is a huge talent and showed that in his early days at Manchester United. His downfall only came because he wasn’t ready to be thrown in at the deep end with such a big club.

Everton is the perfect level for the Sweden international and he would be handed the stage to show exactly what he can do. He could be a big fish in a ‘smaller’ pond rather than the other way around.

If Elanga can live up to the expectations put upon him when he started at Old Trafford then their £10m price tag could prove to be a bargain for the Toffees.

Sean Dyche’s admiration for the forward can also only benefit his development, with the Everton boss clearly in belief that he will fit perfectly into his system.
