Jack Grealish shares John Stones message amid Everton interest
Stones will have a range of clubs to choose from in the coming weeks when he leaves Man City as a free agent.
There is an understanding that Stones is keen to return to Everton this summer, with Grealish doing his bit to keep the rumours alive.
On Wednesday evening, Grealish posted an image on Instagram of Stones during Man City’s latest game, with the caption: ‘Jonnny, Jonnny Stones’.
Sunday marks the final home game of the season for Everton! 😳
How have you found the first season at the new home of the Blues? 🏟️
The 31-year-old came on for the final eight minutes of Man City’s convincing 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Stones already has a Premier League offer from an unnamed club, but there is also interest arriving in the veteran from Italy.
It is a potential free signing that Everton would certainly have to weigh up.
There is no doubting the quality and experience that Stones would bring back to Merseyside following a 10-year stint at City.
However, the clear issue surrounds Stones’ injury record, which would make for a real headache at Everton if Jarrad Branthwaite were to continue with his own struggles.
Everton could land Manchester City duo this summer
Talks are ongoing between City and Everton over Grealish, as the Toffees look to retain the 30-year-old for next season.
Grealish’s serious injury back in January curtailed his season, during which he scored two goals and provided six assists for the Blues.
Moyes has shown his trust in experienced players this season by being reluctant to play the likes of Tyler Dibling.
In that sense, a player like Stones would make a lot of sense to Moyes, but the pros and cons must be seriously considered.
