The Premier League have revealed the lineup of officials for Sunday’s game between Everton and Sunderland.
Everton have felt aggrieved by the officials in recent weeks, with the Toffees being informed they should have been awarded a penalty against West Ham.
With David Moyes already a frustrated figure, Everton have now learned John Brooks has been appointed to hold the cards for Sunday’s game.
Let us know your prediction ahead of Sunday’s game! 🤔
Everton have not won since they beat Chelsea in March… 🫣

Premier League reveal officials for Everton vs Sunderland
Moyes has been furious with decisions against Everton since the international break, which has seen the 63-year-old publicly voice his frustrations.
The final game of the season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will see a controversial official take the lead VAR role on Sunday.
- Referee: John Brooks
- Assistants: Simon Bennett, Craig Taylor
- Fourth official: Oli Langford
- VAR: Tony Harrington
- Assistant VAR: Adrian Holmes
Sunday marks the final home game of the season for Everton! 😳
How have you found the first season at the new home of the Blues? 🏟️
Harrington was infamously the referee that sent Idrissa Gana Gueye off earlier in the season at Old Trafford.
Gueye slapped Michael Keane at Old Trafford and was shown a straight red card for violent conduct.
The matter was quickly quashed behind the scenes, thanks to the three points, and the Toffees moved forward
Everton should, however, be even more concerned about their record under Sunday’s referee.
Everton hold dreadful record under referee John Brooks
Everton hold a dreadful record when Brooks has refereed them in the past, with just one win in the 15 games he has officiated.
| Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Yellow Cards | Second Yellows | Red Cards | Penalties |
| 15 | 1 | 5 | 9 | 29 | 1 | 0 | 3 |
Ironically, Everton’s last game with Brooks as the referee was against Sunderland in the FA Cup back in January.
The Blues were awarded a fortunate penalty on that day at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but they have not won with Brooks on the whistle since his first Everton appointment against Lincoln City.
History does not bode well for the Toffees ahead of Sunday’s game.
