Jake O’Brien was recently answering quickfire questions for Everton, and he gave a surprise answer when asked about the strongest part of his game.

Everton have the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Michael Keane, Jake O’Brien and James Tarkowski as the centre-back options for Sean Dyche at the moment.

However, the Everton boss hasn’t always been fair with the use of his central defenders, as O’Brien seems to be the one out of the loop at Goodison.

O’Brien moved to Merseyside in the summer from French club Lyon for £17 million.

He’s still a young player with a four-year contract signed at Everton, but fans were hoping to have at least seen more than 26 minutes of action from O’Brien.

Interestingly, when speaking to Everton, he’s revealed which part of his game is the strongest and it may come as a surprise to some people.

Jake O’Brien reveals the strongest part of his game

Jarrad Branthwaite faces a late fitness test to see if he can feature against Ipswich Town this weekend.

However, Dyche spoke out in his press conference yesterday and said that O’Brien is very much at the club with the view to the long-term.

Now, when speaking to the club for their Instagram page, O’Brien revealed that the strongest part of his game is actually his passing.

He stated this.

“Probably my passing.”

Just what Everton need at centre-back

Everton are lacking a ball-playing centre-back at this moment in time with Branthwaite in and out of the side.

Let’s face it, James Tarkowski and Michael Keane are more known for their size and strength, opposed to any passing ability they may have.

So O’Brien offers something different at the back, it just seems like Dyche isn’t brave enough to upset the current bond he has with Keane and Tarkowski.

The FA Cup looks like the best opportunity for O’Brien, who has already impressed Tarkowski behind the scenes as he said he has what it takes to become a top player.
