Everton have confirmed the one-year contract signed by Seamus Coleman.

It has been a long month on Merseyside with David Moyes still waiting for his first new signing of the summer.

But the Everton chiefs have been largely focused on securing a number of new contracts ahead of the new campaign.

There are a considerable number of players departing, which has left Angus Kinnear with a huge task at Everton.

As well as improving the quality of the squad, the Friedkins are now needing to sanction deals to boost the numbers.

The news of Coleman sticking around for another season has not only delighted the fans but some of the Everton players too.

Having played a huge role in Everton’s recent history, Moyes is delighted to see Coleman stay for the 2025/26 campaign.

It is going to be a huge season for Everton with the move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium over the coming weeks.

Taking to his Instagram account, James Tarkowski shared an emphatic two-word reaction to the news on Coleman’s future.

Reposting the news to his Instagram story, Tarkowski captioned his post: ‘The Skipper’.

It is clear just how highly Coleman is thought of by his teammates back at Finch Farm despite barely even playing last season.

Dwight McNeil has waxed lyrical about Coleman recently for what the right-back provides away from the pitch for the club.

At just £60k, Coleman is continuing to show how he has proven to be the bargain of the Premier League era.

There are going to be some huge changes at Everton over the coming weeks and months as the club prepares to write a new chapter.

The Friedkin Group are backing Everton financially this summer, but they are keen to wait for the new PSR window to open in July.

But it is not just the owners who are creating excitement on Merseyside, as Coleman has also shared his delight in having Moyes as his manager.

“In David Moyes, we have the perfect manager to lead us into a new era. He showed his abilities once again with the way he had us playing after returning last season,” he said.

“As the man who brought me to Everton, I can’t speak highly enough of him. He gets this football club, the standards required every day, and what it means to play for Everton.
