Everton secured three big points on the weekend against Nottingham Forest and an encouraging performance to go put the cherry on the cake.

Victory for David Moyes and his side has taken the Toffees one step closer to mathematical Premier League safety.

But there will be no worries at Everton with the Blues having now climbed up the table to 13th spot.

Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry praised Everton for their counter-attacking goal against Forest.

It was just another impressive showing that Everton fans will have gotten used to since the 61-year-old was handed the keys at Goodison Park.

James Tarkowski has praised a number of players following the game on Saturday and he singled out Jack Harrison for special praise ahead of his loan ending.

James Tarkowski wowed by Jack Harrison’s work at Everton

Ahead of the summer, it is expected Jack Harrison will leave Everton and return to Leeds United following the conclusion of his loan.

The winger has now spent two years on loan at Goodison Park, and a decision needs to be made on his permanent future.

Speaking to the club’s media channel after the game on Saturday, Tarkowski could not speak highly enough of the winger.

“I thought Jack [Harrison] was excellent. Some real moments of quality and he’s working hard to get the finer details right but for me he was very good today, working ever so hard out wide,” he said.

Gary Neville did criticise Harrison following Everton’s Merseyside Derby defeat earlier in the month.

However, it seems those who know the player better are well aware of the work he is putting in to improve.

Everton must allow Harrison to go back to Leeds

Harrison did win Everton a penalty against Arsenal, but that decision has also been heavily criticised in the wake of the draw.

Tarkowski may have been impressed, but there has been a real lack of quality shown from the winger in front of goal.

The Everton captain is not alone as Micah Richards has also praised Harrison following the Merseyside Derby.

The issue is not the winger’s work ethic, it is his lack of contribution in front of goal.

One goal across the entire 2024/25 Premier League campaign is simply not good enough for a club which are looking to really progress under the new ownership.
