Everton did not play badly against Aston Villa, as they travelled to a ground where few claimed victories last season.
Few expected much fightback at all really after the tough start to the season endured, so when Sean Dyche‘s men rushed into a 2-0 lead, the Premier League was left stunned.
Although, few Evertonians truly believed that it was a lead they would hold onto, especially with their recent defeat to AFC Bournemouth.
The goals conceded, particularly the first two, were cheap, yet one pundit actually expressed some sympathy regarding the second.
Jamie Carragher pitied one Everton player vs Aston Villa
Speaking live on Sky Sports’ commentary yesterday, Jamie Carragher was unsurprisingly critical of the Toffees as they collapsed once again.
Blowing yet another 2-0 lead, it never takes much for the former Liverpool defender to lambast the side he used to support, but on this occasion, his frustration melted into pity regarding one particular Everton player.

After all, as Jack Harrison briefly sought to fill in at right-back, he was massively stretched to try and deny Lucas Digne from getting in behind.
However, in doing so, the £90k-a-week winger unfortunately palmed the ball right into Ollie Watkins’ path, who couldn’t miss to equalise.
Carragher claimed: ’Jack Harrison puts it on a plate for Ollie Watkins and Michael Keane can’t get his team-mate out of trouble.
‘That is a simple finish. I feel sorry for Harrison, he is stretching and worrying that someone is going to get in behind him. Sometimes your luck is just not in.’
Sean Dyche really needs to shake up his team now
Realistically, with pressure mounting on Sean Dyche’s position at Everton, he needs to start making some intelligent personnel decisions that not only gain him some favour with the fans but also help his chances of winning football matches.
After all, there are a few figures that, should there be an alternative fit and ready to play, they have to be dropped.
Michael Keane is one such example, who continues to keep out his £17m summer signing Jake O’Brien.
Few can explain why the Republic of Ireland international remains so unfavored whilst Keane, who has struggled whenever called upon throughout his tenure at Goodison Park, retains his spot.
Meanwhile, Harrison is another player who continues to inexplicable guarantee a spot in the side despite the summer addition of Jesper Lindstrom too.

If he did not plan on playing them, there was little point in signing them, when funds were so sparse, and positions like right-back were so threadbare.
Dyche needs to shake his team up, with a hugely important run of fixtures incoming, or else face the chopping block before his contract expires next summer.
