Thierno Barry made it four goals in his last five Premier League games for Everton against Leeds United, and Jamie Carragher was pleased to see what he did after scoring.
David Moyes’ side played out a 1-1 draw with Leeds at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton fans, who was your standout performer in the 1-1 draw with Leeds? 🤔
In a game of two halves, Leeds totally dominated at first, taking the lead through James Justin.
With the wing-backs wreaking havoc, Moyes made two substitutions at half-time to match Leeds formation.
This helped Everton get back into the contest, and it was Thierno Barry at it again for the Toffees, turning home Idrissa Gana Gueye’s cross.
After the game, pundit Jamie Carragher dropped his verdict on Barry after noticing the way he celebrated.

Jamie Carragher shares Thierno Barry verdict after Leeds goal

Barry is still finding his feet in English football, but the fact he’s now scoring goals is great news for Everton.
The Frenchman had a first-half to forget last night, but kept plugging away and got his just rewards in the second-half.
And Barry was delighted with his latest strike, pulling out several different celebrations.
Carragher said on Sky Sports after the game: “You know the brilliant thing about that is when we watched him in the first half of the season, you always felt for him, he almost looked shy. He almost looked… what I’m saying is, that’s confidence. The celebration is confidence because he’s scored four goals in five games.
“At the start of the season, he was looking like a boy who’d come from Villarreal, who didn’t feel like he fit in really. You always felt sorry for him. Watching him play.
“That type of celebration only comes with a confidence and an arrogance.”
Barry deserves great credit
So it’s four in five for Barry, and the 23-year-old deserves a lot of credit for his display against Leeds.
In the first-half, nothing was really coming off for him and he was kept very quiet. But he kept working hard and in the end, he got Everton level.
How impressed were you with Thierno Barry vs Leeds United? 👏
And it was a great goal too, as he showed great positional sense and anticipation, and it was a quality finish to lift it high into the net.
Barry will certainly still have frustrating moments in an Everton shirt this season.
But you can just see that he is looking more and more at home now, and hopefully we’ll be seeing those kind of celebrations many more times before the season is out.
