Since David Moyes’ arrival last month, Everton’s fortunes have completely turned.

Sean Dyche had the Toffees in a relegation battle after a torrid run of form, which saw the goals completely dry up.

After he informed the Friedkin Group that he had taken the club as far as he could, the new owners decided to sack him for David Moyes.

The Scotsman has come in and immediately hit the ground running, winning four of his first six Premier League games in charge to move Everton well clear of the drop zone.

David Moyes working on attacking runs in training

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Jarrad Branthwaite shared that Moyes has been focusing on attacking runs in training which has paid dividends on the pitch.

“I think before he came in, we had that defensive resilience, the structure and I think he’s maybe brought in the bit of attacking flair, attacking knowledge and structure,” Branthwaite said.

“Everyone knows the positions to be in and we’re creating loads more chances. I think you can see that throughout the games that he’s been in charge.

“We’re working on different positions for the attackers and different runs to make to open the defence and I think you can see it’s working.

“The more times we get the ball in the box as well, we’ve got a bigger chance of scoring. I think that’s something we’ve been focusing on – to put it in dangerous areas and see what comes from it. We’re doing well so far, so let’s hope it continues.”

Moyes has reinvented Beto

One of Moyes’ biggest challengers when he arrived was to get one of his centre-forward on form and firing.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Beto were all failing to have an impact in front of goal and looked well off the pace.

Calvert-Lewin and Broja both suffered injuries and Moyes was forced to place his trust in Beto, which has certainly paid off.

The Scotsman has clearly been working closely with the towering centre-forward because he looks like a completely new player.

Beto has netted four times in his last three outings and his all-round play has significantly improved.

One of the many improvements Moyes has been able to make.
