Everton’s search for a new forward has reportedly led them to the United States international Timothy Weah.

David Moyes has been able to show some promising signs of turning things around on Merseyside after the weekend.

The emphatic victory over Tottenham Hotspur was a step in the right direction for Everton, but it did also highlight some of their issues which remain.

With just under two weeks remaining in the window, Moyes is hoping to see Everton sign two new players to bolster his options.

One of those demands is for a new forward to be signed with struggles in front of goal hindering the Toffees for most of the season.

Timothy Weah set to remain at Juventus amid Everton interest

It has been suggested that Everton have reignited their interest in Timothy Weah this month as an attacking target.

The forward is one of a number of potential options for the Friedkins this month.

However, according to journalist Ed Aarons, the 24-year-old is now set to remain at Juventus in this winter’s transfer window.

Aarons noted the interest coming from Merseyside, but it seems as if the American is not a player who will be available for a transfer.

This comes at a time when Everton are pursuing a move for Ernest Nuamah from Lyon, with conflicting reports also emerging around his future.

Regardless of who it ends up being, Everton need to bring in a new forward this month with their win over Spurs on Sunday should not pave over the cracks shown this season.

Timothy Weah could have added quality to Everton

It has been a fairly solid 2024/25 campaign for Weah in Turin playing under Thiago Motta.

The American has provided a decent return for Juventus, so it is no real surprise to see they are keen to keep him this month.

Everton are keen to sign a new attacker this month, but it seems as if they are going to miss out on a player of real quality here.

His father, George Weah, has hailed the winger as ‘immense’ previously after he won the Ligue 1 title with Lille.

“As a winner of the Ligue 1 title myself, I know it takes immense determination, hard work, commitment and steadfastness week after week to emerge as a champion,” Weah said in a press release.

However, it seems as if a potential move to the Premier League is now off the cards for Weah with Juventus making their position clear.
