Everton are now around half way through the January transfer market and are still awaiting their first signing.

That is not to say work has not been going on at Everton with the new owners having made some significant changes at the club.

David Moyes has now returned to Merseyside for his second stint with the club following Sean Dyche’s departure.

Despite having just walked through the door, Moyes has warned his Everton players to pick up their performances.

Moyes is set to manage his first game of his Everton return on Wednesday against Aston Villa with the Blues sitting just above the relegation zone.

But he will be keen for The Friedkin Group to provide him with some new faces before the window closes.

David Moyes wants two Everton signings

The Friedkin Group are eyeing two signings this month with the Toffees needing to improve their results dramatically.

A new forward and midfielder are being targeted by the new owners.

However, according to TeamTalk, there may be a slight difference in thinking with Moyes having his own targets.

It is believed Everton are now eyeing a new winger and a full-back as their two signings.

With Everton in need of improvement going forward, there are a number of players on the radar of Kevin Thelwell.

Everton are eyeing a deal for Ernest Nuamah, but the Toffees are keen for John Textor to share whether he’s willing to sell this month.

Everton need to sign a new left-back

Alongside the potential additions in the transfer window, Everton are in talks to extend Vitaliy Mykolenko’s contract.

But this. isa position where Everton are lacking real depth in their squad.

Mykolenko has received a lot of criticism this season for some of his performances, but he has maintained his spot in the starting XI.

Although some fans may want to see an upgrade to the options at right-back there are still three first-team players capable of playing there.

There is one opportunity opening in the window for the Toffees, though.

Everton are keen on Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton, but they do feel his price tag is steep considering he is soon to be out of contract.
