Everton could now be eyeing up their next signing having just added Jake O’Brien to their squad this week.
The Toffees may have been left disappointed by the recent news of The Friedkin Group’s takeover collapse earlier in the month.
Sean Dyche‘s men have also been experiencing some issues on the pitch with Everton still awaiting their first win of pre-season.
Despite this, it has remained a positive summer so far in terms of the transfer market with the Blues having already brought in four new recruits.
And the Toffees are not looking to stop just there with a potential hijack of a transfer which one of their Premier League rivals are looking to pull off.

Everton eyeing hijack of Nottingham Forest transfer
Bolstering the front line is something which Everton came into the summer needing to do after struggling last season in front of goal.
So far, Everton have added Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom to their squad but there is still room for improvement.
Goals have been an issue for Everton even in pre-season with just one goal scored over their last two games against Salford City and Coventry.
And it seems as if Everton are now looking to step up their pursuit of another attacker as they eye a potential hijack.

According to TeamTalk, Everton are now eyeing a potential move for the CA Talleres winger Ramon Sosa this summer.
Nottingham Forest have already made their move for the Paraguay international but have been set a deadline to get their deal finalised.
The Toffees showed interest in the winger back in January but now look set for Kevin Thelwell to revive that interest.
Sosa is capable of playing on either side of the pitch having provided Talleres with 13 goals and 17 assists since signing last year.
Ramon Sosa banished from CA Talleres training
It has been claimed Sosa and the Talleres president, Andres Fassi, were involved in a heated exchange over the weekend.
Sosa has shared his desire to make the proposed move to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest which has resulted in him being banished from the training ground.
Everton are believed to have made another winger their top priority this summer just days after landing Lindstrom from Napoli.
