Everton drew 1-1 with Leeds United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

It was a game of two halves, as Everton had to really improve in the second period after a poor start against Daniel Farke’s side.

David Moyes changed the formation at half-time to match up the visitors’ back-five shape, and that worked a treat.

Everton fans, who was your standout performer in the 1-1 draw with Leeds? 🤔

The Toffees were unlucky not to win in the end, as Idrissa Gana Gueye struck the crossbar late on following Thierno Barry’s equaliser.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium certainly produced a great atmosphere, and Farke mentioned that in his post-match press conference.

Daniel Farke very impressed by Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton’s home record has been really poor at the Hill Dickinson, and Moyes reckons his side are still settling into the new stadium.

“We moved from Goodison, which was a slightly tighter stadium, more compact,” the Scotsman said.

“This is a bigger arena here – the whole stadium and the field as well – so I think we are still taking a little bit of time to settle in.

Farke, on the other hand, admitted that Leeds really struggled to deal with the atmosphere generated by the Everton supporters.

“I think overall the stadium is very impressive and in the second half you could feel…especially when they were on top of the game or they equaliser – there was a great atmosphere,” the Leeds boss said.

Everton winless in five at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

Moyes was able to make Goodison Park a real fortress in the second half of last season, but he’s struggled to replicate that form at the Hill Dickinson.

The Toffees have now failed to win any of their last five games at home, so that must be corrected if they’re to qualify for Europe this season.

The last victory came at the start of December, when Moyes’ side dismantled Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.

Thierno Barry scored his first goal for the club in that fixture, whilst Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and a Nikola Milenkovic own goal completed the scoring.
