Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on the verge of joining Leeds United on a free transfer.
Calvert-Lewin left Everton upon the expiry of his contract last month and has been linked with a plethora of clubs in the Premier League and abroad.
Manchester United were looking at Calvert-Lewin as a backup option, and there were links to West Ham United, too.
However, David Ornstein has now reported that newly-promoted Leeds United have reached an agreement to sign the 28-year-old.
Here’s how Everton supporters have reacted to the impending transfer.

How Leeds fans have reacted to signing former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Leeds United fans have reacted emphatically to the Calvert-Lewin news as they’ve flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter.
“DCL surely CANNOT be our main striker,” @nay_woods posted.
“This is incredibly underwhelming…just like signing Patrick down for a few more years. We already have Nmecha in as a low risk back up to contest up front. Should be pushing the boat out for a marquee striker,” @SebHeap commented.
@c_ellis92 added: “Just don’t even bother kicking a ball this season if DCL is our attacking answer. Horrific signing!”
“Take it we have accepted relegation,” @davedunroamin said.
Calvert-Lewin has a lot to prove at Elland Road
It’s clear that Calvert-Lewin already has naysayers at Elland Road, so he has a lot to prove to win over the supporters.
The former Toffees striker has proved he can deliver in front of goal, though, so if he can find his rhythm, it could prove to be a good bit of business by Leeds.
He runs the channels really well, and his link-up play has always been promising, so he does suit a side towards the bottom end of the table.
If Daniel Farke can rediscover the Calvert-Lewin Carlo Ancelotti had, then he’s on to a winner.
