Much has been written about Dominic Calvert-Lewin over the past few weeks and months regarding his Everton future – and there has now been a big update.

David Moyes is hoping for a productive summer after guiding Everton to 13th in the Premier League table in 2024/25.

The Scot did a tremendous job after succeeding Sean Dyche in January, and fans now want to see him backed in a big way by The Friedkin Group.

There is a lot to do this summer with so many players leaving the club.

And it looks like Moyes could now be set to lose another player in the form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with a big claim being made in the last moments.

It has been reported by Everton insider El Bobble on X that Calvert-Lewin now stands to leave the club, stating an agreement between the two parties has not been reached.

He writes: “Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave the club at the expiry of his contract later this month.

“The 28 year old and the club have failed to agree terms over a new deal and the striker is now set to depart Everton on a free transfer.”

But this is an intriguing claim, because Everton have shared today via their official website that they ‘continue to liaise with representatives’ of the player.

Last week, Alan Myers had reported that it could still go either way with Calvert-Lewin regarding his Everton future.

But Everton News was informed last week that Everton and Calvert-Lewin were nowhere near an agreement over a new contract.

And seemingly, no progress has since been made.

Barring any unforeseen breakthrough, Everton must now work to find a replacement.

This is a big development, and one that must now prompt the Toffees into action.

Calvert-Lewin may not have had a good season in 2024/25, but he will still be someone Everton could really miss.

Ultimately, he was proven in the Premier League, and had shown promising signs under Moyes before injury robbed him of so many minutes in 2025.

Everton are already in the market for new strikers.

Apparently, Nick Woltemade is someone Everton are looking at, having impressed for Stuttgart.

And Villarreal striker Thierno Barry is another player Everton are eyeing, with the club supposedly ready to activate his £33 million release clause.
