Everton appeared to miss out on a transfer target back in April.

It was Wales Online who suggested Harry Wilson was set to join Aston Villa when his contract with Fulham expires at the end of the season, despite interest from the Toffees.

However, speaking in what could be his last press conference in charge of Fulham amid strong interest from Benfica, Marco Silva suggested Wilson is yet to actually make a decision on his future.

Marco Silva hands Everton a Harry Wilson lifeline

Chatting to reporters ahead of Fulham’s Premier League clash against Newcastle on Sunday, the former Everton manager said: “As far as I know, he hasn’t made a decision, it’s the same for Raul (Jimenez).”

Reliable journalist Christian Vaquero recently claimed that Everton are monitoring Jimenez too as the Mexico international nears the end of his contract at Fulham as well as Wilson – so both players being discussed by Silva are of interest to the Toffees.

We feel a move for Jimenez makes little sense considering the Mexican is now 35 years of age, but a swoop for Wilson – who Fulham paid £12m to sign from Liverpool in July 2021 – could transform Everton’s attack next season.

The Wales international has always been a player of star potential, but has truly blossomed this season with ten goals and six assists in 35 Premier League appearances this term.

With Dwight McNeil likely to leave after coming close to an exit in February – and also with Tyler Dibling struggling to make an impression – there is a clear space for Wilson to walk straight in on the right of Everton’s attack.

Would this put you off bringing Harry Wilson to Everton this summer? 😬

He's been quality this season too… 😫

It will be tough to fend off Aston Villa considering they can offer the Fulham No.8 the chance to play UEFA Champions League football next season, but there remains hope for Everton after Silva admitted the 29-year-old is yet to make a decision.
