England managed to get revenge on Greece in their own back garden on Thursday evening, and Jordan Pickford played a starring role.

Jordan Pickford has had his critics in an England shirt, and rightly so at times after his performance against Greece last time out.

However, there’s almost a reluctance to give him his flowers when he performs well.

Everton fans know exactly how good the 30-year-old can be on his day, and last night was an example of that, as he followed up his outstanding performance against West Ham.

Interestingly, it appears that football fans are starting to notice, as several of them made the same point about Pickford after his display.

There had been rumours that Thomas Tuchel could demote Jordan Pickford when he takes charge of the England squad, but performances like these will make him almost impossible to drop.

He made five saves and two punches, completed all three of his run-outs, had 64 touches, a passing accuracy percentage of 79, completed 11 of his 21 long balls and five clearances, won both of his duels and was fouled once in what was a very impressive display (as per SofaScore).

The Man of the Match award was given to Jude Bellingham by Sky Sports for his performance on the night, but Pickford got the vote elsewhere.

It’s now down to Pickford to ensure he has consistency from here on in, as one issue of his has been mistakes that creep in from time to time.
