Everton picked up another three points at the weekend, but there is something now hanging over their game against Nottingham Forest.
Sean Dyche’s return to Merseyside was not one he will want to remember in a hurry, with Everton doing a real job on the Reds.
The victory has taken Everton well into the top half, with David Moyes setting his eyes on European qualification this season.
Despite seeing his side demolished at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Dyche was furious with James Tarkowski’s coming together with Dan Ndoye.
In the days since the game, Forest have even lodged a complaint to the PGMOL asking for an explanation as to why Tarkowski was not sent off for his nudge in the back on their forward.
Speaking to Everton News, former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg has shared exactly what fans can expect to come of this complaint.

What will happen to Everton’s James Tarkowski following Nottingham Forest’s PGMOL complaint
Everton fans were left stunned by Forest’s PGMOL complaint, with many feeling Dyche would have applauded Tarkowski if he was still managing Everton.
Forest were taken apart on Saturday in a convincing win for the Toffees, and they find themselves complaining to the officials again after a trip to Merseyside.
Clattenburg has offered Everton fans with some confidence, with Tarkowski not set to receive any retrospective suspension.
“Tarkowski will not be retrospectively punished for the barge in the back of his opponent in the recent Everton v Nottingham Forest match,” Clattenburg told Everton News.
Days on from the game, do you think James Tarkowski was lucky not to be sent off? 🤔
“Forest have written to the PGMOL and this will lead to the management of PGMOL reaching out and explaining why the red card was not issued.
“The FA can only punish a player after the match if it’s missed by the match officials. With VAR, this cannot happen now as if it was missed, then use of VAR will be further damaged as they should not miss incidents on the field of play.”
Everton fans provided Dyche with a warm welcome back to the club before the game, but the Reds have left Everton’s stadium again making their frustrations known to the officials.
With Everton already being hit by recent suspensions and injuries, this is an incident which the Blues will just be happy to put behind them.

James Tarkowski must be careful after PGMOL complaint
Whether you think Tarkowski was fortunate not to receive any action taken against him during the game or not, he must be careful now.
The incident has become something out of nothing and the officials are likely going to have their eye on him as a result of Forest’s complaint.
Mark Clattenburg has his say – Is Sean Dyche being serious? 🤣
Tarkowski battled with Joshua Zirkzee during the recent victory at Old Trafford over Manchester United.
After all, this is a physical, old-school centre-half, who is going to give strikers a difficult afternoon.
However, he is going to have to be street smart heading into the game this weekend against Chelsea.
