Former Premier League referee Mike Dean has said that Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate should have been sent off against Sean Dyche’s Everton in the Merseyside derby.
Everton have suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah scored both goals for Liverpool in the second half.
The first goal came from the penalty spot.
Everton were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Ashley Young was sent off.
I believe that it was the right decision.
Young should have done better for the second yellow card that he got.
However, Liverpool could have gone down to 10 men in the 66th minute.

According to former Premier League referee Mike Dean, Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate should have been shown a second yellow card for his challenge on Beto.
The £36 million (Sky Sports) defender was already on a yellow card.
Konate clipped the heels of Everton star Beto as the Toffees broke.
The defender was substituted soon after.
Dean said on Sky Sports News (1:55pm, October 21, 2023): “I think it is a second yellow, I do.
“Consistency-wise, you send off a player for two fouls in the first half.
“He has done two in the space of 10 minutes.
“I guarantee you he will get substituted.”
Everton were wronged v Liverpool
I believe that Ibrahima Konate should have been sent off for Liverpool.
The match was goalless at the time.
That could have changed the game.
Who knows, Everton could have gone on to win the Merseyside derby had it been 10 men each.
I believe that the referee should have shown Konate the second yellow card and sent him off.
