It’s being reported that Everton are in the market for a long-term Jordan Pickford replacement.
Indeed, there are no plans to replace Jordan Pickford now, but the Everton goalkeeper is no doubt entering the final couple of years of his peak.
The 32-year-old probably has two seasons left at the top of his game, so David Moyes and his chiefs are doing the right thing in finding a potential successor early.
If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰
That said, it’s being reported by Sportsboom that Everton are ‘weighing up a move’ for Southampton shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale.
Ramsdale, who just spent the season on loan at Newcastle United, is expected to leave the South Coasters this summer.
Mikel Arteta, despite moving him on for David Raya, is a big admirer of Ramsdale’s character and qualities.

Mikel Arteta rates Everton target Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale had a successful couple of seasons at Arsenal before Arteta made the bold decision to bring in Raya as his replacement.
The former Bournemouth and Sheffield United goalkeeper was held in really high regard by the Gunners boss.
Speaking in 2023, Arteta said: “He has been really, really good and probably against the odds because when you look at his past and where he was coming from, he got relegated twice, it was difficult to imagine it.
“But we saw he had that character, charisma and personality to play for our club and he had the potential qualities to feed into our way of playing.
“When you see the development he had in the past two seasons I think he is exceptional.”
How would you feel about Hayden Hackney becoming Everton’s first signing? 🤩
Ramsdale’s personality is rather similar to Pickford’s in the sense that they’re both very emotive and playful on the pitch.
So, in that regard, the 28-year-old would be a suitable successor to the Everton number one, although there’s no doubt he’s still got areas of his game that need improving.
Shot-stopping and distribution have always been his strong points, but many would argue that he can be a bit rash at times and lacks composure.
If Everton do decide to bring Ramsdale to Finch Farm, he’d certainly be a good number two for the time being and could learn under the more experienced Pickford.
