Well, it seems we could finally be set to have a conclusion to Everton’s protracted takeover at the hands of 777 Partners.

Having struck a deal with Farhad Moshiri back in September, scrutiny has emerged over the time in which it has taken the Premier League to come to a conclusion on ratifying the deal.

But, with news breaking earlier today, it seems that the Toffees will at last learn their fate, and whether they will be trading in their hapless Iranian owner for this Miami-based firm shrouded in controversy of their own.

Contact is expected very soon, and a formal outcome will shortly follow. But when exactly can Evertonians expect to receive a verdict?

We take a closer look…

What’s the latest on 777 Partners?

Having seen everything go silent on that front, it seems that this was the calm before the storm.

Now, as noted by The Telegraph, an outcome is finally expected.

Penned by journalist Tom Morgan, he writes: ‘Everton and 777 Partners are expecting contact from the Premier League this week as the top tier’s directors and owners’ test finally reaches conclusion. All outstanding questions have been answered by the Miami-based consortium, with the club still confident it will learn its fate within the fortnight.’

It has been their lack of openness that has slowed down the process, but with that finally overcome, it seems like the clarity could convert into a decision. Morgan continues: ‘Premier League contact with 777 over the coming days is expected to include an exact date for a decision.

‘For 777, there remains optimism the deal will finally be signed off, despite having aimed to be completed by Christmas.’

A conclusion at last for Everton

Whether it is sanctioned or not, at least this will mark the end of one of their ongoing waits, that which are killing the fanbase.

Keeping supporters in the dark makes little sense from the Premier League’s point of view unless they have something to hide, and certainly with the appeal that seems to be the case.

However, in their defence, this takeover situation seems to have been largely halted by the misconduct of 777 Partners.

It remains uncertain whether they will achieve success or not, as they seek to add the Toffees to their sprawling multi-club portfolio.

But, whatever is decided, at least it could spell a period of stability at last, with an owner whose sole focus should be on their plight. That remains to be seen.
