Neal Maupay makes prediction on whether Everton will get relegated from the Premier League

Everton were beaten by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday – and after the game, Neal Maupay caused a stir on social media.

Everton came up way short against the Reds at Goodison Park.

Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White got the goals for the visitors, and it was a pitiful performance from Everton who had no quality in the final third.

Despite Sean Dyche calling on Armando Broja for the first time from the start, the Toffees just couldn’t break down a well organised Forest outfit.

Forest picked their moments, and unlike Everton, were clinical when they needed to be.

The result leaves Everton just three points above the relegation zone, and fans are especially concerned about this toothlessness under Dyche.

Relegation is a very real possibility – and Neal Maupay’s feelings about the fate of the club this season are very clear.

The Friedkin Group have backed Sean Dyche following their takeover of the club.

It would certainly be a big risk to change manager at this stage of the season, and Dyche has kept Everton up since his arrival in January 2023.

But many are agitating for a managerial change, with the lack of goals in the team a major reason for concern.

It only takes the clean sheets to dry up for Everton to really start struggling, and the Toffees have now conceded in each of their last two matches.

After yesterday’s game, Neal Maupay made headlines for his social media activity.

He took to X to write: “Whenever I’m having a bad day I just check the Everton score and smile.”

A fan wrote a message to Maupay, suggesting that he’d need to be careful the next time he played against Everton, to which Maupay replied ‘See you in the Champions League next season!’

He then corrected himself, saying ‘*Championship’.

Maupay prediction could ring true if Everton aren’t careful

Maupay – who’ll leave Everton permanently next summer with Marseille obligated to buy him – sparked outrage with his posts on X yesterday and his tirade against the club remains rather bizarre.

But Everton have a lot of work to do to avoid suffering relegation to the Championship.

At the moment, there is just no cutting edge in the final third under Dyche.

Broja got a chance to lead the line yesterday, but it was a thankless task, as most centre-forwards discover when playing in a Dyche team.

Dyche claimed the players did the opposite of what he told them against Forest which was very concerning to hear, so The Friedkin Group certainly shouldn’t discount making a managerial change soon, as risky as it could be.
