Everton are back in Premier League action on Monday evening as they take on Premier League title challengers Manchester City.

It’s a crucial game for David Moyes’ side as they still have ambitions of finishing in the European spots this season.

Three points would move them level with Brighton and Hove Albion in seventh place, whilst a point would put them two behind.

How would you have the side lined up if you were David Moyes? 🤩

A defeat at this stage of the season would significantly dent their chances of Europe, so there’s a lot riding on tomorrow night.

With that said, Opta’s supercomputer has made its prediction for the Hill Dickinson Stadium clash and Paul Merson disagrees with it.

Paul Merson predicts Everton to upset Man City

According to the supercomputer, Everton have a 24.7% chance of beating Manchester City on Monday night.

The away side have been given a 52.4% chance of securing the three points, so clearly the hosts are massive underdogs.

Merson disagrees with that prediction, as he actually anticipates the Toffees to upset Pep Guardiola’s side.

Who would you rather see in Monday’s squad to face Man City? 🫣

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, the pundit has actually predicted a score draw, which would be a great result for the hosts.

Everton have a lot of footballers who can hurt City,” Merson stated.

“I thought they were very unlucky to lose against Liverpool and West Ham in the last two games. Not long ago, I remember them slaughtering Chelsea at this stadium!”

Merson added: “I’m predicting the title race to be over this weekend with a Manchester City draw at Everton.”

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Manchester City

Guardiola has admitted he’s expecting a difficult game against the Toffees: “Really difficult (opponent). Always have been.

“They defend really well. David Moyes knows exactly what to do from set pieces with Tarkowski. So, they’ve always been tough.”
