The Hill Dickinson Stadium is becoming an issue for Everton, but the Toffees are at least travelling well.

On Monday, David Moyes’ side drew 1-1 with Leeds United, meaning it’s now five games without a win at home.

For some reason playing at HDS has become a problem, with fans starting to get slightly concerned.

Pundit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink theorised there’s a lack of intimidation at Hill Dickinson compared to Goodison Park, but some feel it’s more to do with the football being too conservative.

Everton are back on their travels this weekend and it’s a trip to the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

And ahead of the game, pundit Paul Merson has dropped his score prediction.

This is a game that both teams will be looking to win to keep alive their hopes of securing European football.

Brighton are a couple of places below Everton at the moment and three points behind. But Fabian Hurzeler’s side are well capable of beating anybody in this league on their day.

Ahead of the game, Paul Merson has given some thoughts.

Much has been made of how well Everton have played away from home in recent times. However, Merson feels the Seagulls will take all three points this weekend.

Predicting a 2-1 home win, he said (via Sportskeeda): “A proper game of two halves for Everton last weekend against Leeds. They were battered in the first half and managed to turn it around after the break to get a point.

“Brighton will want to bounce back after their last minute loss to Fulham. I thought they played well in that game. They are a funny and dangerous team, in the sense that if they turn up, they can beat anyone in this league!

“Everton are better away from home and I consider them the better team out of these two. But I have a feeling that Brighton will win this game in front of their own fans.”

Brighton strong at home as Everton eye response to Leeds draw

Everton may travel well, but Brighton have been relatively strong at home this season

In their 11 games at the Amex, they have won five and drawn five, losing only once. Two of the victories came over Manchester City and Newcastle.

Everton, though, could have Brighton’s number on Saturday if Moyes can get his tactical game plan right.

Brighton tend to have the lion’s share of possession when they play, so this may suit Everton in terms of sitting in deep and then launching counter-attacks.

It’ll be interesting to see if Moyes goes with three at the back for Everton, with the team that played in the second-half against Leeds having looked impressive.
