Jack Grealish will play no part in tonight’s game between Everton and Manchester City, but he’ll no doubt be a particularly interested spectator.

The Toffees are back at Hill Dickinson Stadium tonight, and it is quite simply a huge match.

Everton still have an outside chance of playing in a European competition next season, but need to pull something out of the bag tonight to give a realistic chance.

With Jack Grealish done for the season, let us know your verdict on his campaign! 🤔

He provided six assists and two goals in the Premier League 👏

And City of course, are trying to catch Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Everton have stumbled a bit in recent weeks, but will hopefully relish the chance to cause an upset tonight.

They’ll have to try and do that without Grealish once again, and ahead of the match, Pep Guardiola was asked about the winger.

Pep Guardiola adamant Jack Grealish has the quality to shine again

Grealish could not have played in tonight’s game even if he was fit, due to being on loan at Everton from City.

Ahead of the game, Guardiola was asked about Grealish and what he thinks of his future.

He said (via his press conference): “I want the best from Jack. I know the impact was really good. He played the minutes he had in the Treble season was extraordinary. Maybe after that I didn’t help him or maybe we couldn’t reach the level that he had.

“He needs games, games, games, and at Everton he had an unfortunate injury, but hopefully he can recover and next season he can continue to play.”

A reporter then asked Guardiola if he felt Grealish can get back to his best, with the player recently being snapped looking worse for wear.

Before the question could even be finished in its entirety, Guardiola said firmly: “It depends on him.

“It is absolutely him. The quality is no doubt. Everything is there.”

Everton must re-sign Grealish

There was no suggestion of Grealish returning to City and playing for them next season, which does perhaps hint that he’ll be coming back to Everton.

Everton want that, and Grealish is desperate to return.

What should Everton be willing to pay to bring back Grealish over the summer? 💰

He had a great impact in the first half of 2025/26 and did enough to suggest that Everton should indeed be trying to bring him back – his injury has resulted in a general loss of creativity in the team.

Ideally he’ll be brought back on another loan basis, but it could take some hard negotiation to make it happen.
