Everton’s chase to sign Hannibal Mejbri is in the final stages with the battle against Sevilla yet to be resolved by all parties.

Transfer business coming into Goodison Park this January was always going to be slow given the financial troubles the club are facing.

Profit and Sustainability violations left Everton with a 10-point deduction in November.

Now there is concern that this coming Monday could bring further sanctions as the Premier League announce which clubs have breached the rules.

Therefore any deal would likely be either a loan or a free transfer. With that being the case there is one name which has been strongly linked in the past week and that is Hannibal Mejbri.

Now a report has claimed the 20-year-old is being pushed towards an Everton move.

Manchester United want Hannibal Mejbri to join Everton on loan

According to a report from journalist Alonso Rivero, Hannibal is being pressured into a move to Everton by United who are keen to see him in the Premier League.

Although the report continues that Hannibal would prefer to make the move to Sevilla in La Liga.

This was said earlier this week that the Tunisian sees Sevilla as a better move, with potentially game-time guaranteed there in a way Sean Dyche cannot promise.

The report does, however, say that a resolution is expected to be met next week for the £40k-a-week midfielder to head on loan whether that be to the Toffees or Sevilla.

Everything we know about Hannibal to Everton

Last weekend was the first link this window to Hannibal as Everton was tipped with wanting to hijack Sevilla’s move for the 20-year-old.

After this, Hannibal was labelled as the perfect player for Dyche thanks to his impressive qualities including his relentless pressing.

Everton were believed to want an option to buy Hannibal included in the loan deal which United were completely opposed to, but it’s likely a buy-back would have then been thrown in as well.

A blow was then dealt with Hannibal favouring a move to Sevilla which was reported by HITC earlier this week.
