Everton‘s January transfer window is due to be reliant on loans as the club tries their best to remain within the Premier League‘s financial rules.

One name which has sprung out is one of the two Manchester United midfielders linked – along with Scott McTominayHannibal Mejbri, the 20-year-old midfielder who could be exactly what Sean Dyche needs.

Hannibal Mejbri could be perfect for Sean Dyche

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, United writer from the MEN Steven Railston has told Everton why Hannibal is ideal for the midfield at Goodison Park.

“His commitment to the shirt can never be questioned and he plays on the edge, which has endeared him to supporters. He’s not afraid to ‘put himself about’ but he also possesses quality.”

Railson then continued to display an example of why Hannibal is perfect.

“Hannibal is the perfect player for Sean Dyche because he’ll run himself into the ground each game. His running is relentless and when he started against Burnley at Turf Moor in September, he clocked up 12.9 kilometres, a record for a United player since they began gathering the data in 2019.”

Finally, the chances of Hannibal joining Everton were evaluated by Railston.

“United often have a preference to send players to clubs throughout the English pyramid because they believe that will prepare them better to break into the first team at Old Trafford, but whether Everton would be a more suitable destination hinges on the game time he receives.

“It seems like the decision could come down to the player, but I’d personally prefer him to join Everton to prove himself in the Premier League, which is a more challenging division than La Liga.”

Hannibal loan to Everton works out for everyone

Hannibal could absolutely explode under Dyche if he joins for the remainder of this season. The 20-year-old possesses substantial technical ability but that isn’t his biggest strength.

For a midfielder in Dyche’s team, you need to run and be both tenacious and intelligent which Hannibal possesses in bundles.

If he arrives on loan, while it could initially only be for six months, Everton could be in a position to buy him next summer.

He’s shown his ability to play Premier League football already and he’d be a quality addition to our squad in January and potentially beyond.
