Everton allowed nine players to leave on permanent deals last summer.

Everton manager David Moyes led a complete squad rebuild and was backed with a budget of in excess of £100m.

Moyes sanctioned the sale of Youssef Chermiti to bring in Thierno Barry, although that’s not really gone according to plan so far.

Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔

Chermiti has just come off the back of a fantastic season at Rangers, whilst Barry flattered to deceive on Merseyside.

Now, one of Chermiti’s previous teammates has just described him as the ‘complete’ package, so perhaps Everton made a mistake in letting him go.

Former Everton striker Youssef Chermiti described as ‘complete’ package

Chermiti has really impressed up in Glasgow, so much so that European giants PSV are already keen on signing him, along with another unnamed club.

His former teammate Cyriel Dessers has been speaking to Rangers Review about just how good the Portugal under-21 international is.

“I think (Youssef) is very complete,” Dessers explained.

“He has the size, he has the speed for his size. He can drop into those pockets. He scored some beautiful goals in big moments.

“Of course, that’s very important for being a striker at Rangers; sometimes you need your striker to do something magical.

“I remember his bicycle kick in the Old Firm, thinking ‘Wow, this guy really has something for sure’. Everybody can see the potential. You saw him improve during the season after a difficult start. The qualities are there, and I hope he can stay at least one more season at Rangers and improves even more.

“If that happens, you have a very, very big weapon to win that league.”

Chermiti registered a commendable 20-goal involvement for the Scottish giants in his debut season, so they will do well to retain his signature for another year.

On his current trajectory, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see him depart Ibrox in a deal worth in excess of £25m this time next year.

Looking back, Moyes should’ve kept him at Finch Farm and given him a proper opportunity.
