Predicting Everton’s first five Premier League games of the new 2026/27 season

Everton will be hoping to better their 13th-placed finish in the new 2026/27 Premier League campaign.

David Moyes’ side made some progress last term, but they really tailed off in the final couple of months after the March international break.

Everton fans were very critical of Moyes’ management of the squad, as he relied far too heavily on the old guard rather than giving youth a chance.

So, the Toffees boss will be under pressure to deliver next term and get off to a positive start in August.

That said, we’ve made a very early prediction for the first five games of the season.

How many points Everton be on after five games

Everton vs Crystal Palace – 22nd August

Everton’s first game of the new Premier League season takes place towards the end of August, which is a lot later than usual due to the World Cup.

Moyes’ side play host to Crystal Palace at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and this fixture last term produced a 2-1 scoreline, with Jack Grealish bundling home a last-minute winner.

I think it could be deja vu.

Score prediction: Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace

Bournemouth vs Everton – 29th August

A tough game follows the opener as Everton travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth, who finished sixth last term.

They may be significantly weaker though, as they’ve lost Andoni Iraola to Liverpool, so it remains to be seen what kind of force they’ll be under Marco Rose.

A point would be a good result in this one.

Everton vs Manchester United – 5th September

The first clash in September sees the Toffees in action against Michael Carrick’s Manchester United side.

Under Carrick, Man United have been one of the most in-form sides in the division, and some even feel they could challenge for a title.

Moyes’ record against United is dreadful, as he’s won six, drawn eight and lost a staggering 23 times against them throughout his career.

It could be the first defeat of the campaign.

Score prediction: Everton 1-2 Manchester United

Tottenham vs Everton – 12th September

Everton’s second away game of the season is in the capital, as they face a new-look Tottenham Hotspur side in North London.

Roberto De Zerbi has already made some statement additions in the transfer window, so I can see Spurs challenging for the top six next term.

It’ll be important not to lose two on the bounce so early on in the campaign, so I can see the visitors holding onto a point.

Score prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Everton

Everton vs Ipswich Town – 19th September

Everton will be heavy favourites in this one, and anything less than three points would massively disappoint supporters.

If you want to get into Europe, you need to be taking maximum points off the newly-promoted sides, and I think they’ll win handsomely here.

I think a hammering may be on the cards for Gary O’Neil’s men.

Score prediction: Everton 4-1 Ipswich Town

Total number of points after five games: 8
