Rangers fans have a lot to say about former Everton star Youssef Chermiti’s debut

Youssef Chermiti made his debut for Rangers as the fanbase have been very honest about his first cameo after leaving Everton.

The Friedkin Group and David Moyes made the bold choice this summer to let Chermiti depart.

After the Toffees sold the striker for £8 million, a £7 million profit was lost, but Everton included a sell-on clause in Chermiti’s transfer.

This could work to the Blues’ favour if the young forward becomes a success in Scotland, but time will tell.

The Portuguese star made his debut for the Gers, and it’s safe to say the fanbase have all agreed on one thing about the former Everton star.

Rangers fans not happy with ‘garbage’ Youssef Chermiti after making debut since Everton exit

The 21-year-old clearly has promise, hence why the Toffees signed the striker from Sporting Lisbon in the first place.

But after just a 24-minute cameo against Hearts, the Rangers fanbase have come to a conclusion.

The first supporter raised the question: “Are we going to talk about Chermiti’s cameo?” with another fan saying the board are “incompetent” for allowing former Everton Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, to sign Chermiti.

One fan gave a very blunt view, stating: “Chermiti looks garbage,” as another supporter joked if the striker had “ever seen a football” before.

Another took a dig at Thelwell: “Looking at Chermiti Thelwell should be gone tonight,” as one more questioned why the club paid £8 million for him in August, suggesting to “Let that sink in.”

It does seem quite harsh, but with the form Rangers are in at the moment, fans won’t be settling for below-par performances.

Everton fans wanted to give Chermiti a chance, and the Glaswegian side should at least give him an opportunity.

Youssef Chermiti deserves his chance at Rangers after an unlucky Everton tenure

It’s safe to say that the striker never really got his chance to shine on Merseyside.

During his entire tenure, the striker amassed just 297 minutes across 24 appearances, which proves he was hardly given his platform.

There is definitely a player in there as Luis Figo praised Chermiti, and he showed signs at the Toffees.

After he was unlucky with the Blues, the Rangers faithful must wait on him, as a career in Scotland could be the perfect time for him to succeed.

The Gers’ situation doesn’t help at the moment, as fans will get frustrated, but Everton fans saw Romelu Lukaku in Chermiti, and that has to mean something.
