Jack Harrison could make his Everton debut tonight.

The winger is yet to feature for the Toffees since joining on loan due to injury, though he returned to action for the U-21 side at the weekend.

It has been six weeks since Harrison arrived from Leeds United and fans were expecting to have enjoyed a glimpse of him by now, however it appears he has only just recovered from his hip injury that he sustained last season.

Harrison made his first appearance since May last week as he started in Everton U-21’s vitory over Norwich City U-21s.

The 26-year-old played out the first half at Walton Hall Park as he looks to build up his match fitness before returning to the senior team.

However, Everton have now hinted that he could be set to make his debut in today’s Carabao Cup clash against Aston Villa. Harrison was left out of the U-21’s win over Burton Albion yesterday and this could suggest that he is ready to play under Sean Dyche.

Jack Harrison will face the club that tried to sign him

The Toffees will be hoping to pick up their second win in a few days after enjoying a surprise 3-1 victory over Brentford at the weekend.

It seems unlikely that they will play a weakened team at Villa Park as they look to keep up the positivity around the club, though Harrison is likely to start from the bench in his first game back.

Villa may have some sourness towards Harrison after they attempted to sign him before he chose to move to Merseyside. Unai Emery’s side reportedly tried to hijack the deal but failed in their bid, despite being able to offer the attacker European football.

The Toffees will be eager to see Harrison show Aston Villa what they missed out on, while he could have an even bigger chance to impress against Luton Town next time out.
