Sean Dyche has been slammed by Danny Murphy for one thing after Tuesday’s loss to Fulham in the Carabao Cup.
Everton‘s cup dream ended on Tuesday night at the quarter-final stage. At Goodison Park, neither side did enough to warrant the win, although The Toffees probably edged it slightly.
Fulham couldn’t penetrate Everton’s defence and the goal instead came via Michael Keane who scored an own-goal. This looked like it was going to be a game-deciding action as neither managed to open the other up.
But then in the 82nd minute, big Beto scored to make it 1-1 which made for an exciting final period of the game. Ultimately, it ended 1-1 and the game headed into a penalty shootout.
Here is where Everton lost it, Amadou Onana missed a potential game-winning kick at 4-3 to Everton. Idrissa Gueye then missed his which gave Marco Silva the win.

Danny Murphy slams Everton
Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, Danny Murphy ripped into Everton for Onana’s poor penalty.
“Everton must be fuming, because they had the chance to win it off Pickford’s save and Onana’s penalty was a joke.
“If you give him the benefit of the doubt, sometimes you get a bit blase and cocky when you’re taking penalties cause the nerves take over you, I’ve seen that before. I’m not sure that was it, the other thing I’d say is as a coach, I think you should know what players gonna want what penalty that’s the way I was brought up with coaching.
“A manager would wanna – I would wanna know, ‘what are you gonna do if you get the pen?’ And don’t change your mind, let’s practice it now, and stick to it.
“It didn’t look like any prep had gone into those pens, and some people say you can’t prep and I get the pressure and all that, I’ve been there but you can prep players who aren’t used to taking pens, to stick with what they’re gonna do.”
Amadou Onana knows his mistake and has apologised
After such a poor penalty, most players would have shied away and headed straight down the tunnel, but Onana did the opposite.
He was one of the last players to leave the pitch as he apologetically clapped supporters.
He is a fantastic footballer and therefore his mistake shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.
