Everton’s financial issues are well-documented, lending to their dead-silent January transfer window.
Kevin Thelwell had forewarned the fanbase that this month would be a quiet one, and barring they saw no major outgoings, they were largely content.
After all, it seemed a necessary evil to continue their imperative fiscal reparations.
However, with the Premier League still seeing fit to charge them earlier this week, it feels like nothing the Toffees do is good enough for this institution.

And now, with Arnaut Danjuma potentially set to depart Goodison Park, those worst fears are set to be realised.
Is Arnaut Danjuma leaving Everton?
Although the Dutchman has seen opportunities limited since he finally made his Merseyside move in the summer, the on-loan Villarreal ace has shown glimpses of his immense quality in the last month or so.
However, it seems that a minor upturn in game time has come too little too late, with reports emerging that Lyon are on the prowl to pry the winger from Everton.
And, it seems the 26-year-old has been seduced by such interest, awaits the green light from his current side to allow him to move.
Whilst Everton will be desperate to bring in a replacement before they let him leave, Sean Dyche might actually be able to easily replace Danjuma whilst also boosting the wage bill.
After all, Lewis Dobbin would not mark an outstanding decrease in quality, and fortunately, already plays for the Toffees.
How good is Lewis Dobbin?
Whilst he too has seen little game time too, as a youngster still earning his spurs, this is a position far more appropriate.
And, funnily enough, from the sole league he has enjoyed, he boasts the same number of Premier League goals as Danjuma from four starts.
Coming from the bench against Chelsea, in what was a tight affair at Goodison Park, his thunderous effort from the edge of the box secured a crucial three points in front of a raucous home support.
In what was his first top-flight goal, he is making great strides forward, having posted 11 goal contributions last term for League One side Derby County.

In fact, back in 2021, journalist Thomas Feaheny would highlight his key attributes: ‘Lewis Dobbin has been outstanding, a hat-trick, good range of passing & very skilful during the opening 45 minutes.’
With Dyche already clearly a fan, and Danjuma seemingly edging towards the exit door, now marks the perfect time for Dobbin to step up behind Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison to take his chance.
