Sean Dyche caught in the crossfire again as Gary Lineker mocks Micah Richards’ Everton prediction

Everton fans will be excited to see what the Friedkins are able to provide in their first-ever summer transfer window.

David Moyes has worked wonders with the work he has done on Merseyside since returning in January.

Considering the number of players who are set to leave Everton at the end of their contracts this summer, it is going to be a busy summer.

The Friedkins are ready to hand Moyes a significant transfer budget, and that will be boosted by the club remaining a Premier League club.

After they were handed the keys back in December, there will have been some real concerns about the club’s future as a top-flight side.

Moyes has recognised Everton are safe from relegation with a healthy cushion on the bottom three with seven games remaining.

That may not have been the case with Sean Dyche still in the dugout.

Gary Lineker mocks Sean Dyche claim made at Everton

After three months in the job, Moyes has proven a lot of pundits wrong at Everton as he now has the Toffees up in 13th spot.

He arrived at the club with the Blues seriously struggling for form under Dyche.

But speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Micah Richards believes the 53-year-old would have kept Everton afloat.

“I think if Sean Dyche was still in charge, they would have stayed up,” he said.

But Gary Lineker was keen to point out that it would not have taken a miracle from Dyche to keep Everton up.

“Well the bottom three have hardly got any points, so yeah,” responded Lineker.

“But I think what Everton fans were alluding to is they want to dream for more than that. And that’s what they’re getting! They’ve brought in the perfect man,” Richards added.

Even Dyche has praised the work Moyes has done at Everton following his sacking back in January.

But the change of manager just goes to show how much the 53-year-old had this group of players underperforming on Merseyside.

Sean Dyche remains without a job after Everton sack

Three months on from being sacked by the Friedkins, Dyche still finds himself out of work.

Everton News understands Dyche is expected to manage a Championship side next season, with two of the bottom three in the Premier League set to make changes.

It will be interesting to see where he could end up, with a drop-down to the second tier a likely option.

Derby County fans pleaded for Dyche earlier in the year, but it looks like one of the relegated sides could offer a potential landing spot for the 53-year-old.

Considering he felt he had done a good job at Everton, he is going to have to accept a step down over the coming months,
