Everton return to action on Saturday as they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Sean Dyche’s men are in need of a reaction after their embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Southampton last weekend.

Everton remain in the relegation picture and pressure is starting to mount on Dyche, with The Friedkin Group not happy at the current situation at Goodison Park.

So for both managers in the dugout, it could be a pivotal game for their future and ahead of the clash, Dyche has been speaking to the media at Finch Farm.

He was able to provide an unexpected positive injury update.

Abdoulaye Doucoure could be back way sooner than expected for West Ham clash

Speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon, Dyche gleefully said that Abdoulaye Doucoure could return from injury ahead of this weekend’s clash against West Ham.

“Doucoure has got a chance. He’s done very well to recover; we were worried at first that it would be a number of weeks, but that’s settled down really quickly.”

Doucoure missed the Southampton defeat through injury and his absence was evident, with Everton lacking a presence in midfield.

So if he does return to the line-up this weekend, it will be a massive boost for Dyche, who must gain a positive result.

Dyche says Seamus Coleman has a minor hamstring injury

Dyche noted that Seamus Coleman, who hasn’t played since August, has picked up a minor hamstring injury.

He’s still been selected to represent the Republic of Ireland, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be absent from the squad on the weekend.

The former Everton boss was also asked if Jarrad Braithwaite’s absence has been because of managing his return from injury but was quick to dismiss that suggestion and praised all four of his centre-backs.
